MTECH

MTech programmes are advertised in the month of March each year in Employment News as well as on electronic media and admissions are carried out in the month of May. BTech or MSc degree holders in relevant areas with a valid GATE score are encouraged to apply.

The department presently offers two MTech programs:

• MTech in Materials Engineering
• MTech in Polymer Science and Technology

The primary purpose of these programs is to train students to fulfill the constantly growing requirements of the materials based industry and academia. For admission in to the Polymer Science and Technology MTech program, students from diverse backgrounds including BTech/BE in Polymer Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Material Science, Petroleum Engineering, Textile, Polymer Technology, MSc Chemistry and Physics are eligible. For admission in Materials Engineering MTech program, students from backgrounds including BTech/BE in Materials or Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Ceramics Engineering are eligible.
