The group aims to involve in research activities focusing on structure-property control alloy design of advanced materials (eg. smart materials, auxetic materials and TRIP/TWIP steels and titanium alloys). Main goal is to establish a research lab dedicated to: i) develop advanced metallic materials, in bulk and porous forms, via alloy design principles; ii) to optimize such materials structure-property correlation. Fundamental understanding relating the processing-structure-performance of novel materials. Within this theme, overall progress is aimed: (i) at focusing on materials such as titanium alloys, advanced (TRIP/TWIP) steels, smart materials (Ti- and Ni- based shape memory alloys) and auxetic materials/composites (Fe- and Ti- based alloys), relevant to structural and biological application fields; to focus on advanced materials research relevant to wide range of application fields encompassing biological to structural field involving highly porous materials to high strength materials.
